Manchester United double injury worry vs Man City
Manchester United are heading into arguably their toughest test of the season when they will travel to take on Manchester City in the first Manchester Derby of the season. It goes without saying that this is a big game for both sides, and not just because it is a derby.
Manchester City are chasing Arsenal in the Premier League and will not want to fall behind by dropping points at home against their biggest rivals.
On the other hand, Manchester United already have wins over Arsenal and Liverpool this season. If they can beat Manchester City as well then one would have to consider Erik ten Hag’s side as genuine title contenders this time around. The Red Devils do seem to have a couple of injury problems heading into the derby though.
As reported by 90min, Manchester United could be without Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford for Sunday’s game vs Manchester City. The Frenchman has been struggling with an Achilles problem while a hamstring issue has kept the Englishman out in recent weeks. There were hopes that they will return after the international break but according to The Times, neither player has returned to full team training yet.
Manchester United could be without duo in the upcoming derby vs Manchester City
It is safe to say that this Manchester Derby could be a close contest between two sides who have been in good form in recent times.
While Manchester City have an incredible amount of talent, there have also been games where they have been frustrated when they have not managed to score freely.
If Manchester United are able to do that as well then they might have a genuine chance of coming out of this game with a point or potentially even three if things go their way on the day.
