Manchester United are in a good position at the moment and have won four games in the Premier League on the trot while also bringing their Europa League campaign back on track with a 2-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol. But the Red Devils will need to continue building upon the momentum after they return from the international break.

We have seen several false dawns at the club since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and one can only hope that this time around, this is finally the light at the end of the tunnel that Manchester United fans have been waiting for all these years.

Erik ten Hag has been handed an injury blow during the international break though. Manchester United announced on their official website that on-loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka will return from international duty earlier than expected, after picking up an injury in training with Slovakia.

Dubravka has withdrawn from the Slovakian squad and will have his problem assessed at Carrington.

It is safe to say that Dubravka is not a starter for Manchester United at this point of time, but he is still a very good option to have in the squad.

He was a starter for Newcastle United last season and helped Eddie Howe’s side climb out of the relegation zone and finish in 11th in the Premier League table.

Thus, it is safe to say that he provides competition to David de Gea for the starting spot and there are huge question marks over the Spaniard and whether he is the right fit for Ten Hag’s style of football.

One can only hope that it is not a serious issue for Dubravka and he decided to pull out of the Slovakian squad as a pre-cautionary measure more than anything else.
