Manchester United might not have been perfect under the management of Erik ten Hag but they are certainly moving in the right direction. They are on a 4-game winning streak in the Premier League, which includes victories over table toppers Arsenal as well as Liverpool. Thus, some of the swagger seems to be coming back in the Red Devils, something that we have not seen since the 2020/21 campaign.

It seems like Ten Hag is trying to implement his system at Manchester United and the players have a clear idea about their particular roles in the team.

This has resulted in improving the performances of a lot of them. One of the best examples of that might be Marcus Rashford, who seems to be back to his best now.

Exactly what it is that Ten Hag has changed in this team since coming in though? Anthony Elanga believes that it is their attitude. As reported by Manchester Evening News, he told Fotbollskanalen:

"“If I have to say one thing (he’s changed), it’s attitude.“Our attitude has improved a lot. We are more focused and know what to do. We play as a team. It has become a new system. Not all the players are quite used to it, but we have been playing well and have started to win games. We are happy.“We came in the next day after the Brentford game and trained. I think it’s normal because we lost 4-0, and it’s not dignified to be Manchester United. But it was good, because then in the match against Liverpool there was a very big difference in our attitude compared to the match against Brentford.“If we lose, we lose as a team. Now we are more together. If we win, we do it as a team.”"

Elanga reveals what Ten Hag has changed at Manchester United

It is great to hear this coming from especially someone like Elanga, who is a very highly rated youngster but is not a regular for the first-team. Thus, it shows that Ten Hag has been able to bring everyone together, not just the players who are getting regular playing time on the pitch.

And it is showing in their performances for sure. Manchester United have improved drastically since those early defeats at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

Back then, many Manchester United fans believed that they were headed for disaster. Fortunately, that did not turn out to be the case and instead, it feels like they now have a genuine chance of getting into the top four this season if they can continue to improve and develop under the management of Ten Hag.
