Manchester United have recruited brilliant this summer and as a result, fans are once again viewing them as contenders to finish in the top four of the Premier League. That was certainly not the case after the first couple of games, when the Red Devils were completely outplayed and beaten.

One of the most interesting moves that Manchester United pulled off in the summer is bringing in Martin Dubravka on loan from Newcastle United. The club allowed Dean Henderson to leave on loan and needed to bring in someone as back up.

At the same time, one does not feel like David de Gea might have a long-term future in Erik ten Hag’s team as the Spaniard is not the most suited player to the Dutch manager’s system.

As reported by Jeunes Footeux, with De Gea having not really convinced Ten Hag, Manchester United are looking for a goalkeeper of international caliber for next season, the Red Devils want to secure the services of Jan Oblak. PSG have also been linked with him.

The situations of both De Gea and Oblak are very interesting at this point of time. Both of their current deals run out next summer, although in the case of the Spaniard, Manchester United to have an option to extend his deal for a further year.

Oblak has been considered as one of the best goalkeepers on the planet for quite a few years but recently, he has been going through a rough patch of form himself.

He is still just 29 years of age though and his best years as a goalkeeper might be ahead of him. Thus, if Oblak is available as a free agent, signing him would be an absolute no brainer for Manchester United.
