Manchester United will look at the summer transfer window as a successful one as they managed to sign huge stars like Casemiro, Antony, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen. Furthermore, Tyrell Malacia and Martin Dubravka were brought to the club as well, as it looks like the Red Devils are contenders for a top four finish this season under the management of Erik ten Hag.

Despite the summer transfer window though, things are not exactly perfect for Manchester United. In fact, there are still areas of the pitch where they could do with more options.

One such area of the pitch is right-back. The club have Diogo Dalot firmly established as the starter there since the arrival of Ten Hag but Aaron Wan-Bissaka seems to be nowhere near the first-team picture at the moment.

Thus, the club could do with another player who would compete with Dalot for the first-team spot. And as reported by TEAMtalk, Ten Hag is ready to step up his efforts to bring Santiago Arias to Manchester United with the offer of a short-term contract.

Manchester United ready to make offer to Colombian right-back

Arias was let go of by Atletico Madrid in the summer and as a result, the Colombian international is a free agent at this point of time.

At 30 years of age, he would not be expected to be a long-term solution for Manchester United, but could very well get the job done on a short-term basis.

Arias has a wealth of experience with the Colombian national team and has represented clubs like Atletico Madrid, Sporting CP, Bayer Leverkusen and PSV Eindhoven through the course of his career as well.

Of course, that experience could come in handy for Manchester United as well. And if they make a serious attempt to sign him, it is more than likely that Arias will end up at Old Trafford.
