Manchester United chased the signature of Antony for a long time before finally managing to agree a deal with Ajax towards the end of the summer transfer window. The Brazilian made a brilliant start to his career at Old Trafford as well, by scoring against Arsenal. His second game, vs Real Sociedad, was not as successful, but overall, he looks like an excellent addition to this side.

Erik ten Hag will know exactly what he will be getting from Antony, having already managed him to great success at Ajax.

One player who does not seem to have a clear role in Ten Hag’s side at the moment is Cristiano Ronaldo, but he still seems to be teaching the younger players a lot, with Antony being one of them.

It was only recently that Antony arrived at the club, but already seems to have been blown away by Ronaldo. While speaking with the club’s official website, the Brazilian said:

"“Words can’t describe Cristiano, the best in the world. In just a few days, I’ve learnt a lot from him. He has an extraordinary mind and, whenever I talk to him, I take a lot from it.”"

With the amount of money that Manchester United splashed out to sign Antony from Ajax, one would be expecting him to play regular football moving forward.

On the other hand though, Ronaldo’s future at the club is pretty much up in the air. It is believed that he was eager to leave in the summer and was linked with the likes of Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and several other teams, but there did not really seem to be a lot of interest in the 37-year-old.

Now, he seems to have fallen behind Marcus Rashford in the pecking order and if the situation does not change soon then, it would be a surprise if Ronaldo does not push to leave the club in January as well. Let’s see how things transpire from here on forward.
