Manchester United were not having a good summer transfer window but turned up the heat following defeats in the first two games of the season. The Red Devils ended up bringing in two blockbuster signings in the form of Casemiro, from Real Madrid, and Antony, from Ajax.

Antony made a brilliant start to life at Old Trafford as well, by scoring against Arsenal in his Manchester United debut. And while his performance against Real Sociedad might not have been anything to write home about, overall, it is looking like he could be a key player in Erik ten Hag’s team this season.

Ten Hag will already known Antony well from their time together at Ajax, where the Brazilian thrived under the management of the Dutchman. Thus, it is safe to say that he already knows how to get the best out of the tricky winger, who impressed in both domestic and European competition last season.

And Dean Jones seems to believe that he could be the perfect fit in this Manchester United side. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said:

"“They want to see someone with a bit of a belief, even a bit of ego, which I think Antony’s got as well. I think he’s the perfect fit and the perfect lift for this team.”"

Since the arrival of Ten Hag as manager, a lot of Manchester United’s forward players are performing well once again.

Marcus Rashford has had a standout season till now and looks to be back to his best. On the other hand, Jadon Sancho has been impressing as well as it looks like he is finally coming to grips with Premier League football.

Adding someone like Antony to that mix means that Manchester United have a wealth of options in the forward areas of the pitch, even with Cristiano Ronaldo struggling, and they seem to be in a much better position now than they were in last season, when they finished 6th in the Premier League and without a trophy for the fifth straight campaign.
