Manchester United got arguably their biggest win of the season when they beat table toppers Arsenal 3-1. The turnaround from the Red Devils over the past few weeks has been remarkable to say the least. They have won four on the trot now, after losing the first two in dismal fashion, and are not building up some serious momentum and have to considered as top four contenders, which they were not looking like just a few weeks back.

On this occasion, Antony scored on his Manchester United debut while Marcus Rashford scored a brace, in order to hand the Red Devils the win and all three points.

While Manchester United had already beaten Liverpool this season, Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a poor start to their campaign and as a result, this Arsenal game was viewed as their first real test and they passed with flying colours.

And Erik ten Hag seemed to be particularly impressed with two of his goalscorers on the day, Rashford and Antony. As reported by Express, the manager said about the duo after the game:

"“They both played great, a continual threat, I know our offensive is really strong – they are creative and have speed. This is the first time they have played together and this performance is great to see.”"

Rashford did not enjoy a good 2021/22 campaign and there were calls from some fans to even let him go. The Englishman has completely turned it around this season though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 6 appearances till now.

On the other hand, this proved to be a very good debut for Antony as well, who the club splashed big money for, to sign from Ajax this summer.

The signs are looking great at the moment but we have to remember that we have been here before, when Manchester United go on a good run before the wheels fall off once again. Let’s see if they can avoid doing that this time around.
