Manchester United were expected to be busy towards the end of this summer transfer window and they are getting deals over the line for sure. It is believed that the Red Devils have finally agreed a deal to sign Antony from Ajax and he might not be the only new face arriving before the deadline hits.

Goalkeeper is a position that Manchester United seem to have been keen on strengthening as well, as there are question marks over David de Gea’s suitability to Erik ten Hag’s system and the Spaniard needs cover as well, with Dean Henderson being sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest.

And it appears that Manchester United have got their man in the form of Martin Dubravka, who is set to arrive from Newcastle United.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are set to sign Dubravka, full agreement reached, and it is a loan deal with buy option of £5 million. He will undergo his medical on Tuesday.

Dubravka was the first-choice goalkeeper for Newcastle United last season and did a wonderful job as well, as he played a key part in them getting out of the relegation zone and finishing in a respectable 11th in the Premier League table.

But now, the situation has changed for him at St James’ Park as Nick Pope has been signed by the club. As a result, he finds himself sitting on the bench.

It would be safe to say that Dubravka would pretty much be expected to arrive as the back up option to De Gea but if the Spaniard struggles this season, there is every chance in the world that he could break into the first-team.

This is a very smart signing on the part of Manchester United and one that must commended in a transfer window when we have seen many players move clubs for astronomical figures.
