Things had been looking bleak for Manchester United after a disastrous start to the season but now, it looks like the Red Devils are set to breathe new life into their campaign by making a signing that not many fans would have even thought possible just a couple of days ago.

That player is none other than Real Madrid legend, Casemiro. The Brazilian has won 5 Champions League titles and 3 La Liga titles during his time at Santiago Bernabeu.

Initially, it was believed that Casemiro was not interested in a move to Manchester United. But rumours in Spain suggest that he will see his salary almost doubled if he did end up at Old Trafford. Also, at 30 years of age, this is also going to be the last big move of his career.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are working to complete the Casemiro deal on Friday with both Real Madrid and the player’s camp, and there are positive feelings.

Casemiro joining Manchester United would be a huge boost for sure. While a deal is not over the line yet, it feels like only a matter of time now.

It is believed that Manchester United will shell out an initial €60 million transfer fee with a further €10 million in add-ons.

It goes without saying that that is a very significant figure, especially for a player who is 30 years of age.

At the same time though, Casemiro is the type of player who could transform this Manchester United midfield, which has lacked a genuine world-class defensive midfielder for years now.

Fans will be hoping to see the deal get past the finish line as soon as possible. If Casemiro is available to play against Liverpool, it might actually make Manchester United the favourites on the day, with Jurgen Klopp’s side yet to win a Premier League game this season as well.
