Manchester United find themselves in a terrible spot right now. The club have lost their opening two games convincingly and sit at the bottom of the Premier League table. Their next game is against Liverpool, who are still looking for their first win of the campaign as well, having been somewhat lucky to escape with draws in their previous two matches.

The biggest problem for Manchester United is how little seems to have changed in their performances despite the arrival of Erik ten Hag as manager. It is pretty clear that they need to strengthen their squad further if they are to even put up a challenge for a top four finish.

It has not been easy for the Red Devils this summer though, with no Champions League football to offer and not having won a trophy in five straight seasons.

Midfield is an area where they definitely need to make an addition or two. Frenkie de Jong was believed to have been their top target of the summer, but rumours have suggested that he is not keen on a move to Old Trafford. On the other hand, a move for Adrien Rabiot seems to have fallen apart as well, even though Manchester United are believed to have agreed a transfer fee with Juventus.

Now, it seems that the Red Devils have turned their sights towards Casemiro. As reported by Marca, Real Madrid are bracing themselves for a first offer from Manchester United, expected to be around €60 million.

It is still unclear whether Casemiro would consider a move to Old Trafford or not, where his former teammates, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, are not having the best time.

Rumours have suggested though that Manchester United could hand him a package that would almost double his salary at Real Madrid.
