Manchester United’s summer transfer window is quickly becoming a reason for frustration for the club’s fans. Till now, they have brought in Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia. But as their first two Premier League games of the season have shown, it is nowhere near enough for them to even compete for a top four spot.

Manchester United were completely outplayed at Old Trafford by Brighton & Hove Albion and the Seagulls deservedly walked out with a 2-1 victory. The 4-0 defeat away at Brentford left very little to the imagination. The Red Devils’ next game is against Liverpool, as they continue to search for their first point.

One player that they were believed to be closing in on is Adrien Rabiot, with a transfer fee agreed with Juventus. But now, it looks like that is off the table as well.

As reported by The Guardian, Manchester United’s attempt to bring in Rabiot is almost certainly off. John Murtough’s attention is now on exploring a potential move for Casemiro.

Manchester United eyeing move for Real Madrid superstar

Casemiro has been one of the best midfield generals in world football for the past several years now and in many ways, he proved to be the missing piece of the puzzle, who turned Real Madrid back into serial Champions League winners.

It is hard to imagine that Manchester United would be able to convince the Brazilian to come to Old Trafford, especially when you consider the struggles that the Red Devils have gone through in recent years.

At the same time, just because someone has succeeded at Real Madrid does not mean that they will carry that form to Manchester United as well. Raphael Varane is a prime example. He was considered as one of the best defenders in the world but has failed to impress in the Premier League.
