Manchester United have signed Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen till now, as they aim to transform their squad under the management of Erik ten Hag. For almost the entire window, they appear to have been chasing the signature of Frenkie de Jong as well, although it looks like the Dutch midfield maestro is keen to remain at Barcelona and unconvinced about the idea of joining the Red Devils.

On the other hand, Manchester United might need to make an addition in the forward areas as well, especially if Cristiano Ronaldo ends up leaving this summer.

They have been linked with a move for Antony, and the Ajax star would be a statement signing indeed. He shined in both the Dutch domestic competitions and in Europe last season, under the management of Ten Hag.

It is believed that Ajax will be looking for a transfer fee in the region of £84 million in order to part ways with the Brazilian winger. But on the other hand, it appears that Antony wants to join Manchester United. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Alex Crook said:

"“It’s 50/50 at this stage. Ten Hag is very keen. The player wants to come, but Ajax are in quite a strong position because they’ve already raised money by selling Martinez and Haller, so they don’t need to sell him on the cheap.”"

Antony wants to join Manchester United and Ten Hag wants the winger as well

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Antony scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for Ajax last season. He is also just 22 years of age, meaning he has plenty of room to develop further.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United are able to get a deal done for him though. It goes without saying that the transfer fee that Ajax are believed to be looking for is very steep, even for the Red Devils.

As a result, Manchester United should have their eyes on alternative targets as well, if they cannot find a solution quickly, with the season not far away.
