Manchester United are in talks to sign Inter Milan star

Manchester United have been linked with a long list of players in recent times and have completed deals for Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez till now. The club are expected to make further signings soon though, as they aim to make a good start to their time with Erik ten Hag as manager.

One area that they might need to improve in is right-back. There were high hopes when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was signed that he would be the long-term solution there for years to come but it has not quite worked out. While he is very good defensively, his game going forward has left a lot of question marks. Diogo Dalot has done a decent job but the Red Devils could do with another top quality option there.

And it is in this regard that they have been linked with Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries recently. He is a right-back who seems to be at his best when playing in a right wingback role.

As tweeted out by Ekrem Konur, Manchester United are in talks to sign the Inter Milan star.

Manchester United seem to be keen on signing Inter Milan star

Manchester United are not the only club who have been linked with a move for Dumfries in recent times. He has also been rumoured with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona.

It was at UEFA EURO 2020 that Dumfries first caught the eye, with his displays for the Dutch national team. After that, he sealed a move to Inter Milan and has continue to shine.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Dumfries made 45 appearances for Inter Milan last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists.

If Manchester United are able to sign him, it could prove to be a major coup on the part of the club. At the same time though, one has to admit that the defensive side of his game does leave a bit to be desired.
