Manchester United in talks to sign international striker
Manchester United have made a slow start to their summer transfer window, with the signing of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord being their only bit of business thus far. They are believed to be on the verge of signing Lisandro Martinez from Ajax as well. Multiple exits have already weakened the team’s squad depth though and thus, more additions are needed, and all over the pitch.
One area the Red Devils need to strengthen in is up front. Edinson Cavani departed this summer at the end of his contract. Several rumours also suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a way out of Old Trafford as well.
If that was to happen, the club would not have a reliable goalscorer in their ranks, even though Anthony Martial has made a bright start to pre-season.
And even if Ronaldo stayed on, the club should look to embark on a new campaign by bringing in another striker to Old Trafford. Brian Brobbey has been linked with Manchester United recently but it looks like they are interested in VfB Stuttgart’s Sasa Kalajdzic as well.
Manchester United are in talks Kalajdzic
As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have in talks with the management of Kalajdzic even though there has not been a personal meeting so far:
The 25-year-old Austrian international striker’s current deal with VfB Stuttgart runs till the summer of 2023 and thus, this might be the perfect time for Manchester United to make a move for him.
Kalajdzic is known for his strong presence in the air and has gotten goals wherever he has been at till now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 24 goals and provided 9 assists in 57 appearances for VfB Stuttgart.
But there are questions about his fitness and it would also be interesting to see if he would be able to make the adjustment to the Premier League, if he did move to Manchester United.
