Manchester United are in need of undergoing a squad overhaul this summer. The club have brought in Erik ten Hag as their new manager and must be hoping that the Dutchman is the solution to their problems, after not winning a single piece of silverware over the past five seasons. Not only do the Red Devils need great players but they need proven winners as well.

They have lost some serious experience and pedigree this summer as well, with the likes of Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba leaving the club.

On the other hand, as reported by The Sun, Serge Gnabry is a shock name on the transfer radar of both Manchester United and Manchester City, and he would leap to the top of Pep Guardiola’s wish list if Raheem Sterling does leave.

Bayern Munich are believed to be prepared to let Gnabry go for a transfer fee around £35 million, even though they are believed to be keen to keep him at the club, as it is starting to look unlikely that he will extend his deal with the Bundesliga champions.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in Gnabry

Signing someone with the talent and pedigree of Gnabry, who also is just 26 years of age, for a transfer fee around £35 million would have to be considered as a major bargain.

Gnabry has been absolutely brilliant since moving to Bayern Munich, proving himself in both domestic competitions and in the Champions League.

Interestingly, Bayern Munich are struggling to keep hold of some of their biggest stars in recent times and that could open up an opportunity for Manchester United to swoop in for the Germany international although, Manchester City’s interest in the player could be a cause for worry. It remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming months.
