Manchester United are in need of some big signings this summer, as they kick off the Erik ten Had era. On the other hand, in Paris, there has been speculation about Neymar’s exit as the club are believed to be primarily focused on building their future under Lionel Messi’s genius and Kylian Mbappe’s talent, leaving the Brazilian as the odd man out.

In Manchester, rumours have suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo is not particularly happy with the Red Devils’ lack of activity. If the club doesn’t improve the squad, could the Portuguese legend decide to leave?

Neymar could definitely be considered as a replacement, if Ronaldo did end up leaving Old Trafford. The Brazilian has top level experience from his time playing at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He provides incredible creativity up front and can both score and assist consistently.

But the challenge of signing Neymar is that it would require Manchester United to pay a huge transfer fee and then also take on his incredible wages. The Brazilian also has a long history with injuries and that’s another thing to be considered before making a move for him.

Could Manchester United make a move for Neymar this summer?

As reported by 90min, intermediaries have briefed Premier League quartet Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle United about Neymar’s potential availability.

If Ronaldo did leave, it would make the frontline of Manchester United significantly weaker, with Edinson Cavani having left the club this summer as well. Thus, someone like Neymar can provide experience and world-class quality up front for the Red Devils.

Neymar looks both an interesting and also a very risky option. Would Manchester United go after a marquee signing like him in attack, if Ronaldo did decide to leave? Other than the Red Devils, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United have also been linked with a potential move for the Brazilian this summer.
