Manchester United told Bayern Munich’s stance on Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United have been linked with another high profile departure this summer after they had already lost the experienced stars like Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani. Rumours around the media have suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo is not satisfied with the lack of signings at the club this summer.
While other top teams in the Premier League continue to build their squads for the upcoming season, Manchester United have not completed a single signing yet, which has left a lot of the fans worried, especially after the Red Devils failed to qualify for the Champions League last time around.
Thus, could Ronaldo end up seeking a move away from Old Trafford, just a year completing a blockbuster return to the club where he first made a name for himself?
Among the clubs touted as a possible destination for Ronaldo, if he was to leave Manchester United, is the name of Bayern Munich. But it does not look like the Bundesliga champions are targeting the Portuguese legend.
Manchester United told Bayern Munich’s stance on Ronaldo transfer
As reported by Eurosport, Bayern Munich sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, told Sky Sport Germany regarding the Ronaldo rumours:
"“Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player who has had an outstanding career.“However, the rumour that is circulating is a rumour that has no truth to it.”"
Some rumours have suggested that Bayern Munich see Ronaldo as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who appears to be pushing for a move to FC Barcelona this summer. Besides the Bundesliga giants, clubs like Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and AS Roma have also been linked with the Portuguese legend in recent times.
As things stand, Ronaldo is believed to have a year left on his current deal with Manchester United along with the option for a further year as well. And despite all the rumours surrounding his future at Old Trafford, it is hard to see him leaving this summer, especially with the Red Devils not having a like for like replacement in their squad at the moment.
