Manchester United have made a slow start to the summer transfer window, with Erik ten Hag’s side looking to land their first signing. There are several areas of the squad which needs reinforcements this summer, with the departures of the likes of Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and more.

The team’s creative department has also taken a hit. There are rumours of the Red Devils being interested in signing Christian Eriksen on a free transfer. It remains to be seen where that pursuit ends up.

But it doesn’t mean that Manchester United could not be looking at other options at the same time.

As reported by AS, Manchester United. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco. On the other hand, the player is a key part of Diego Simeone’s team and there could be talks over a potential contract renewal.

Since returning from his brief spell in China, the Belgian international has proved to be an integral part Simeone’s side and has been one of their best players in recent times.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 34 appearances in La Liga last season.

It is not hard to see why Manchester United might have their eyes on Carrasco, whose versatility means that he could potentially fill several roles for the club at the same time.

As things stand, the 28-year-old has two years left on his current contract with Atletico Madrid. He is also believed to have a release clause around €60 million. That would be a steep figure to pay for a player set to turn 29 years of age this year. It remains to be seen if Manchester United do end up pursuing a move for the Belgian.
