Erik ten Hag’s arrival as the new Manchester United manager means that the team could look very different come next season. That is needed as well though as the Red Devils have underdelivered consistently for a long time now, not winning a single trophy over the past five seasons.

Thus, the Dutch manager has his job cut out for him and although his track record at Ajax was incredible, this promises to be a whole different ball game. At the same time, he has never managed a top flight club outside of the Netherlands before this and as a result, it remains to be seen how he makes that adjustment.

Several new players are expected to arrive at Manchester United under the management of Ten Hag while several could be headed in the opposite direction as well.

Diogo Dalot is someone who Ten Hag appears to have taken a liking to though and it remains to be seen if the Portuguese full-back gets regular playing time next season, even though Manchester United have been linked with Denzel Dumfries recently. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano said:

"“I’m sure that he would be a potentially good signing for Premier League clubs, for Manchester United in this case, but at the same point, I want to remind you that Diogo Dalot is a player that Erik ten Hag really likes.“So, I’m sure that Dalot will be in competition with any right-back to be the real starter of this team.”"

Ten Hag likes Manchester United player who has had an up-and-down time at Old Trafford

Dalot has had very little stability during his time at Old Trafford. He arrived under the management of Jose Mourinho but found himself struggling for minutes during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time in the hot seat.

He would spent a season out on loan at AC Milan and impressed as well, before returning to Old Trafford. Once again he struggled for playing time, before finally getting a run in the team under Ralf Rangnick.

His future at the club remains uncertain though, with Rangnick gone, and as result, Ten Hag liking him could be great news for the full-back and put him in contention for a spot in the starting XI next season.
