Manchester United seem set for a busy summer transfer window. With Erik ten Hag arriving as the club’s new manager, it is safe to say that there is a need for change in a squad that has not won a single piece of silverware in five seasons now. The likes of Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and a few others are believed to be on their way out of Old Trafford, while several arrivals are expected as well.

One player whose future is an interesting one is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese legend completed an incredible return to the Theatre of Dreams last summer and was expected to take them to the next level. Instead, the club took a step or two back, and could not even qualify for the Champions League.

With Ten Hag the new manager, there are doubts about Ronaldo’s suitability to the Dutchman’s style of play as well. Amidst all this, some shocking news has emerged.

As reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Ronaldo. Talks are understood to have taken place with his agent even though Manchester United expect the player to stay.

Could Chelsea make a move for the Manchester United superstar this summer?

Chelsea have undergone a change in ownership recently and could be heading for some major changes to their squad this summer as well.

Could they end up making a move for Ronaldo though? On one hand, he has been a proven goalscorer for more than a decade-and-a-half now. But on the other hand, teams featuring the Portuguese star have not quite thrived in recent times.

It must be remembered that Juventus lost their grip on Serie A during his time in Turin as well. Thus, it will be very interesting to see whether Chelsea’s interest in Ronaldo goes beyond the talking stage.
