Manchester United’s current squad is expected to undergo a lot of changes this summer. Arrivals are expected and needed, as this team has not won a single piece of silverware in five years now. At the same time though, the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and several others seem to be on their way out. And they could now be joined by two more.

The full-back positions have not been areas of strength for Manchester United in recent years. They are believed to have shelled out around £50 million to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka but after a bright start, his form has faded away.

On the other hand, Brandon Williams had managed to break into the Manchester United first-team a few years back but has since then, fallen behind in the pecking order once again, and spent the previous season out on loan at Norwich City.

Now, as reported by Manchester Evening News, Wan-Bissaka and Williams have been informed they are free to find a new club.

Manchester United duo have been told that they are free to leave

It is safe to say that Wan-Bissaka would have a difficult time featuring in Ten Hag’s style of football, considering his weaknesses going forward and with the ball at his feet. While he is brilliant on the defensive side of things, his limitations on the other end of the pitch might end up being the cause of his Manchester United exit. He can be a great fit at a mid table club, who base their team around a solid defence.

On the other hand, Williams has never quite managed to feature much since unexpectedly breaking into the first-team a few years back.

Thus, leaving the club might be the right step for both Wan-Bissaka and Williams at this this stage of their careers.
