Manchester United are expected to be one of the busiest team in England over the course of the summer transfer window. They have a new manager in place in the form of Erik ten Hag, who has come with a big reputation from his time at Ajax. But he will need all the backing in the world to turn things around at Old Trafford, as the Red Devils have not won a single trophy in five seasons now, a run that dates back to Jose Mourinho’s time in the hot seat.

Thus, it is clear that they need a bit of a transformation this summer, with both incomings and outgoings, and one player who has been linked with an Old Trafford exit for a while is Dean Henderson.

Recently, it had looked like a move to Newcastle United was on the cards, but it did not materialise and now, it appears that another Premier League club are interested in him.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have opened talks with Manchester United to sign Henderson on loan with an option to buy of around £20 million.

Manchester United star could be on his way out this summer after struggling for playing time

Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League after an incredibly long absence and will be hoping to make their stay in the top flight an even longer one. For that to happen, they will have to strengthen their squad significantly.

Someone like Henderson could be a perfect signing for them. For years, it was believed that he was the heir to David de Gea at Old Trafford but now, it looks like that might not end up being the case.

He had actually managed to move ahead of De Gea in the pecking order in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign but lost his place back to the Spaniard last season, and now, it looks like his time at the Theatre of Dreams is set to come to an end soon.
