Manchester United will need to improve their midfield this summer. It has been viewed as an area of weakness for the Red Devils for a while already. On top of that, it looks like they are set to lose the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic as well, further weakening them in the middle of the park.

There is another player who Manchester United have been linked with for a long time though and that is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. But it looks like they have been joined by Chelsea in the race for his signature.

Maurizio Sarri is the current manager of Lazio and he is believed to be interested in reuniting with the midfielder whom he managed to get the best out of during his own time at Chelsea. On the other hand, it has also been rumoured for a while that he is open to letting Sergej go in favour of rebuilding the squad.

Thus, it is very possible that Chelsea could put Loftus-Cheek as part of the deal to sign Sergej from Lazio.

This could be a potential worry for Manchester United for sure. And another thing that cannot be forgotten is that Chelsea have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League, something that the Red Devils have no chance left of doing.

Segej has been one of the best midfielders in Serie A for years now and would be a major coup for any club that manages to sign him.
