Manchester United need to make additions all over the pitch as it has become abundantly clear in recent times that this squad is not good enough to compete at the top of the Premier League or in Europe. They are heading towards their fifth straight trophyless season and fans will be hoping that the arrival of Erik ten Hag will put an end to the downslide that the Red Devils have been on since Sir Alex Ferguson left.

One of the positions that Manchester United need to strengthen in is striker. Edinson Cavani is on his way out of Old Trafford, the future of Anthony Martial is unclear, Marcus Rashford has looked completely out of form and even though Cristiano Ronaldo has been in good form lately, for a large part of the season, he struggled badly as well.

Thus, it is expected that Ten Hag would want the club to bring in a new striker in the summer. And they seem to be have one of the most exciting ones in Europe in their sights.

As reported by The Athletic, Darwin Nunez is generating serious interest from clubs around Europe including Manchester United. It is believed that the Uruguayan striker could be available for a transfer fee around €60 million.

Manchester United reportedly have serious interest in the €60 million-rated striker

Nunez has been one of the most in-form strikers in all of Europe this season without a shadow of a doubt, showing what he can do while playing for Benfica, both in Portuguese domestic competitions and in Europe.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 34 goals and provided 4 assists in 41 appearances. Those include strikes against the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Thus, he can get it done against top level opposition.

If Manchester United are able to sign Nunez, it would be a major coup on their part. But at the same time, it won’t be easy as some of the biggest clubs in the world are also expected to be after his signature.
