This summer is expected to be a very important one for Manchester United and their future. Erik ten Hag is set to arrive as the new manager of the club and one would expect him to ring in the changes. There are a number of areas where the Red Devils are expected to make signings in but at the same time, a number of players could be headed for the exit door as well.
One of them could be Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He was a favourite during the time of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but has struggled since his departure.
While Wan-Bissaka was once rated very highly as a right-back by the Manchester United fans, over his time at the club, his flaws, especially going forward, have become evident and it does not look like he will be the first-choice in Ten Hag’s system.
As reported by The Sun, Jose Mourinho is targeting Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as he looks to sign him from his former club.
Mourinho eyeing move for struggling Manchester United star
One does feel that Wan-Bissaka would be a much better fit in the system of Mourinho than he would be in that of Ten Hag.
One must point out though that AS Roma have been linked with moves for several Manchester United players since the arrival of Mourinho as their manager but till now, none of them have materialised.
Thus, the best way forward would be to just wait and see if the Italian club do indeed end up making a move to sign Wan-Bissaka in the summer. A move away from Old Trafford might be the right step for both the club and the player though.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as the interim manager of Manchester United, Wan-Bissaka has only made 9 appearances and featured for 738 minutes of football.
