Erik ten Hag is going to be the next Manchester United manager. That is no longer a secret. But it is pretty clear that the Dutchman has a mountain to climb at Old Trafford. He will have to do what the likes of Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, David Moyes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick have failed to. Get the Red Devils back to their trophy winning ways following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sure, there has been silverware here and there. But that has been few and far between. And now, Manchester United are headed for their fifth straight campaign without a trophy.

Thus, it is pretty clear that a major rebuild is needed of this squad. And Ten Hag appears to have identified Christian Eriksen as someone who can help him in his quest at the Theatre of Dreams.

As reported by the Daily Star, Eriksen is on Ten Hag’s transfer wishlist, as he believes that the Denmark international would be perfect to launch his revolution at Manchester United.

Ten Hag wants Eriksen at Manchester United

Eriksen signed a short-term deal with Brentford in January, and since then, he has put in some incredible performances for the club in the Premier League as well as the Denmark national team on the international stage.

Thus, bringing in someone with the talent of Eriksen would be considered as a solid signing on the part of Manchester United. His current deal with Brentford runs out at the end of the campaign.

There is expected to be heavy interest in Eriksen’s signature. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are already believed to be interested. And one cannot rule out the possibility of the midfielder staying on at Brentford, as they were the club who gave him a second chance, which he has put to brilliant use.
