Declan Rice has emerged as one of the best midfielders in all of England over the past few campaigns, improving every season, and it is not hard to see why clubs like Manchester United are interested in his signature.
Midfield, especially defensive midfield, has been a spot of weakness for Manchester United for a while. They have been linked with several players in the position in recent years but have never been able to pull a deal off for any of them.
Someone like Rice would be the perfect signing in the middle of the park for Manchester United as they look to rebuild. West Ham United are not expected to be keen on letting the England international star go though and are believed to rate him at a transfer fee around £150 million. That is a huge figure to shell out to sign any player, especially a defensive midfielder.
Journalist Dean Jones does not believe a move for Rice to be unrealistic though. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, he said:
"“Declan Rice, I think he’s gettable at this stage. And if United were to really go for it, I think they could get him. I think Declan Rice is willing to consider his options this summer.”"
Manchester United have received a Declan Rice transfer boost
If Manchester United are able to sign someone like Rice, it would be a gigantic boost for the Red Devils. Of course, it would take a massive transfer fee to make it happen but considering the midfielder’s age and how good he can be in the future, it might very well be worth it over the long run.
Of course, if Rice did indeed end up considering his options in the summer, he would not have any lack of options all around Europe.
But at the same time, it is hard to see many clubs being able to shell out the kind of transfer fee that West Ham United appear to be looking for to part ways with Rice. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils are willing to do so.
