Manchester United make massive Erik ten Hag decision
Manchester United are in search of a permanent manager, with Ralf Rangnick’s interim run expected to come to an end at the end of the season. And it is no surprise that the Red Devils have been linked with one manager after the other over the course of the past few months. In recent days though, Erik ten Hag has emerged as the favourite in the race.
Ten Hag has done a brilliant job at Ajax over the years. He was the mastermind behind their incredible run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals a few years back. And under his management, the Dutch side have re-established themselves as the dominant team in the Eredivisie.
Thus, there is no question about the fact that Ten Hag is a brilliant manager and it is not hard to understand why Manchester United might be interested.
As reported by Football Insider, Manchester United are set to trigger Ten Hag’s release clause at Ajax after deciding to make him their new manager and the Dutchman is expected to accept the offer as well.
Manchester United have reportedly decided to make Ten Hag their new manager
Ten Hag’s record at Ajax speaks for itself. Not only has he been very successful, but he has also gotten them to play a beautiful style of football as well.
But at the same time, there are some question marks over Ten Hag as well. At the end of the day, he has never managed a top flight club outside of the Netherlands. And it will be a big jump to the Premier League if he does end up making the Old Trafford switch.
Manchester United have been linked with several managers other than Ten Hag as well. Mauricio Pochettino, Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopeteugui are some of the names that come to mind immediately.
