Manchester United’s season appears to be crumbling infront of their eyes. Out of every cup competition, the only thing that the Red Devils have to play for is a top four finish. But a run of bad results mean that they have slipped down to seventh in the Premier League table. And even in this form, not many would have seen their defeat against Everton coming.

Everton have struggled throughout the course of the season and the appointment of Frank Lampard as manager has not quite done the trick.

They managed to get a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Goodison Park though, as Cristiano Ronaldo ended up drawing another blank.

Expectations were very high when the club completed a blockbuster move for Ronaldo in the summer. Since then, things have not gone as they would have hoped for. The Portuguese superstar made a bright start to his second stint at Old Trafford but things have fallen flat for him over the past several months.

Ronaldo apologises for incident after Manchester United defeat vs Everton

Following Manchester United’s defeat against Everton, a video emerged on social media which appeared to show Ronaldo apparently smashing a fan’s phone onto the ground. Although that has not confirmed yet, the Portuguese star has apologised for the incident. He wrote on Instagram:

"I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship."

If indeed true, this is not a great look for Ronaldo but it is good to see that he has apologised for the incident and wants to invite the supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford if possible.

Manchester United have a lot of other things to worry about at the moment as well, with one of them being qualifying for the Champions League. The fourth spot, which was in sight not too long ago, appears to be slipping away now. Tottenham Hotspur now have a 6 point lead over the Red Devils.
