With another season set to finish trophyless, Manchester United must be disappointed. As a result, a number of changes could follow, with the arrival of a new permanent manager expected, with Ralf Rangnick’s interim run set to come to an end at the end of the ongoing campaign. There are expected to be changes on the pitch as well though.

Manchester United are expected to be without Edinson Cavani next season as the Uruguayan’s contract at the club will expire at the end of this campaign. Furthermore, uncertainties hover over the futures of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo as well.

Rumours have already linked Manchester United with a number of strikers, with the club struggling to find the back of the net consistently in recent times.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is believed to be a potential target for the club next summer. But as he has a number of years remaining on his current deal, it would not be easy to sign the Serie A superstar.

Manchester United suffer Victor Osimhen transfer blow

As reported by Football Italia, one of Osimhen’s agents, Roberto Calenda, told Radio Marte (via Corriere dello Sport):

"“There are no problems; Victor has already proved his close bond with this club.“I don’t want to waste time talking about this, the situation is ridiculous. Just move on and talk about football.“Osimhen is a young striker and with the right tips, his development is natural. Luciano Spalletti improves the players he works with. Everyone is happy about how things are going, Napoli are a precise choice for the striker’s development, as a man and as a footballer.”"

If Osimhen is to leave Napoli next summer, it is likely to take a transfer fee over €100 million to sign him. Now, time will tell whether or not Manchester United are ready to shell out such a huge amount figure to sign the Nigerian international.

There is no question about his talent or potential though and Osimhen has been one of the best strikers in Serie A this season, and is one of the biggest reasons why Napoli are still in the running for the title.

Thus, he has the potential to go on to become one of the best strikers in the world one day and if Manchester United are able to sign him at some point of time, it would be a major coup for the Red Devils.
