Paul Pogba could very well leave Manchester United in the summer. His contract with the club runs out at the end of the season, meaning he could potentially seal an exit as a free agent in the near future. Of course, there have been suggestions that the French World Cup winner has not made his final decision yet and could even end up staying at Old Trafford.
Since rejoining Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2016, Pogba has never been able to show his best on a consistent basis. On top of that, over the last couple of seasons, the Frenchman hasn’t played regularly due to injury problems.
When he has been on the pitch recently, he has been effective though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Pogba has scored a solitary goal and provided 9 assists in 22 appearances this season till now.
And since his return from injury, Pogba has been very good under the management of Ralf Rangnick. But with his future unclear, Manchester United appear to have potential replacement plans.
Manchester United linked with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
It would not be easy to sign him though and could take a transfer fee as high as £67 million to bring the Serbian to Old Trafford. It must be pointed out that Manchester United have been linked with the midfielder for years.
Someone like Milinkovic-Savic could be a brilliant replacement for Pogba, who is still considered by many as one of the best midfielders in the world on his day.
On the other hand, the Serbian has been considered as one of the best players in Serie A for years now and has been linked with a move away for a while. But till now, it has not transpired. But that does not mean that it could not happen in the future.
