Cristiano Ronaldo has not had the impact that Manchester United would have been hoping for when the club brought him back to Old Trafford in the summer, in a blockbuster move from Juventus. The Portuguese star started well and scored some important goals but since then, his form has faded away significantly and right now, he is going through one of the most difficult phases of his career.

Now, one can never count Ronaldo out. He has made a career out of proving his critics wrong. But at 37 years of age, it would not be a huge surprise either if this is the start of a slide in productivity for him.

Thus, Ronaldo has been linked with a Manchester United exit in recent times, as the club are expected to undergo a transformation in the summer, when a new manager is expected to come in. And it looks like the Red Devils have made a decision surrounding the Portuguese legend.

As reported by Caught Offside, the decision to quit will ultimately be left to Ronaldo, but if he does decide to leave, the club will not attempt to convince him to stay.

Manchester United reportedly make huge Ronaldo decision

If that is indeed the case, then it is very possible that Ronaldo could be on his way out of Manchester United in the near future.

The club are in the middle of a very difficult top four race right now and they appear to be falling behind as well. At this point, unless Arsenal or Chelsea slip up, it is hard to see Manchester United finish ahead of either of them.

Of course, anything can happen in football but things are not looking good for the Red Devils right now.

At the same time, would Ronaldo want to stay on at the club if they fail to make the Champions League next season?
