Manchester United need to make a lot of changes to this squad in the upcoming summer transfer window, as is evident from their performances this season. As things stand, the Red Devils could be headed for their fifth straight trophyless campaign, unless they end up winning the Champions League, and finishing in the top four of the Premier League is also looking difficult for Ralf Rangnick’s side, as they continue to drop points at an alarming rate.

A new manager is expected to be brought in in the summer and he would surely want to rebuild the squad in his own vision.

One area that could get particular focus is Manchester United’s midfield. It has already been viewed as a worry for a while. And on top of that, the Old Trafford futures of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek, currently on loan at Everton, appear to be up in the air.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via Lazio News 24), Manchester United are strongly interested in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. It might take a transfer fee around €100 million to sign the Serbian midfielder though.

Manchester United are strongly interested in Milinkovic-Savic

Manchester United have been rumoured with an interest in Milinkovic-Savic for years now, without a move ever taking place.

But now, the Lazio star is entering his prime as a footballer and if he is to ever get a big move away, this might be the time.

Thus, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for someone, who has been considered as one of the biggest talents in European football for a long, long time now. After a difficult start under the management of Maurizio Sarri, he has definitely come into his own and if Manchester United were able to sign someone of his quality, it would definitely be considered a huge boost for the Red Devils.
