Not too long ago, it had looked like Anthony Elanga was set to leave Manchester United on loan in search of playing time.

The youngster had enjoyed a great pre-season but since then, he had not featured much for the first-team in the regular season. But things have changed drastically in recent weeks though.

Not only has Elanga been brought into the first-team picture but he is also making an impact, scoring important goals and it is safe to say that he has taken his opportunity with both hands. It was the Swedish teenager who finished coolly past Jan Oblak to make it 1-1 late in the second half.

In many ways, it feels like he is starting to play the role that one would have expected Marcus Rashford to play.

Manchester United turn the tables around

This was a reverse in many ways of how most of the recent Manchester United matches have been.

It was Atletico Madrid who dominated in the first-half and got the better chances, going into the break 1-0 up and to be honest, it probably could have been more.

But then, Manchester United somehow managed to find their way back into the game and ultimately it ended in a 1-1 draw. This has happened so many times recently, but at that time, it was the Red Devils who had conceded an equaliser.

Thus, there is all to play for in the second leg at Old Trafford. And to be honest, Manchester United must be the ones who are happier out of the two teams with the result.

Having the second leg of a knockout tie at home is always a massive advantage in Europe. Now, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils can make it count when the two sides meet at the Theatre of Dreams.
