Manchester United’s squad could be set to undergo a bit of a transformation in the summer. With a new permanent manager looking set to arrive, the club are expected to make several signings when the transfer window reopens. But at the same time, there are several players who have struggled at Old Trafford and could be on their way out at the end of the season.

This includes players like Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial, who are currently out on loan. And although they have time left on their current deals, their future at Manchester United is up in the air.

On the other hand, there are also players like Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard, whose current deals are running out in the summer and they will be free to walk out as free agents if they choose to do so.

Lingard almost seems certain to leave the club at the end of the campaign. And West Ham United have been tipped to complete a move for him. While speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Pete O’Rourke said:

"“The thing that gives West Ham a really good chance of getting this deal done is what happened previously with Lingard.“He had a great spell on loan there last season. He knows David Moyes, he knows the club and he knows the players as well.”"

West Ham tipped to complete move for Manchester United star

Lingard was tremendous while on a half-a-season loan spell at West Ham United last season. During that period of time, he was one of the best players in the Premier League.

As a result, when he returned to Old Trafford in the summer, many expected him to have a significant role in the Manchester United first-team. But unfortunately, that has not happened.

He has spent the majority of his time sitting on the bench, first under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Ralf Rangnick. Thus, a move away from Manchester United makes a lot of sense for Lingard.

If he was to leave the club, West Ham United are not the only club who would be interested in his signature though. The likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the England international as well.
