Mr. Champions League himself, Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United has been underwhelming to say the least. He was welcomed back with open arms by the fans but since then, there have been a lot of questions raised about whether it was the right move on the part of the club.

Ronaldo is their top scorer in both the Premier League and the Champions League, but at the same time, he has managed to disappoint.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in the history of the game and thus, it goes without saying that the expectations surrounding him are much more than most players in the world. And in that respect, he has disappointed.

The Portuguese superstar even went through an unexpected goal drought recently, which only came to an end in the recent game against Brighton & Hove Albion. And fans will be hoping that he can find some form moving forward and score consistently, because if the Red Devils are to have any success this season, they will need Ronaldo to be finding the back of the net consistently.

Raphael Varane

Another huge signing who has left a lot to be desired is Varane. The French defender is one of the most decorated players of his generation, winning multiple Champions League titles with Real Madrid as well as the World Cup with France.

But his time at Manchester United till now has been underwhelming to say the least as he has struggled with both form and fitness.

One would still expect him to be a huge part of this Manchester United defence for the next several years to come though and as a result, it is safe to say that Varane needs to step his game up moving forward.

Hopefully, if he can stay fit for a considerable length of time, his form will improve automatically.
