Manchester United will need to rebuild their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window once again. On paper, they have a tremendous group of players but on the pitch, things have not gone their way this season. In fact, they have taken a step back despite signing superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. And on top of everything else, the club look set to appoint a permanent manager at the end of this campaign.

Midfield is one area that Manchester United need to strengthen in. And they have been linked with several players in recent times, like Kalvin Phillips, Ruben Neves, Boubacar Kamara, Aurelien Tchouameni, Amadou Haidara and many others.

But it does feel like Declan Rice would be the dream signing for the Red Devils, after his tremendous performances for West Ham United as well as the England national team.

There is set to be a lot of competition for his signature though. And while speaking with Wettfreunde and as reported by The Sun, Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of Rice and if the midfielder became available, he would be in the race.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid do end up joining the race for Rice. It is safe to say though that there are quite a few clubs already interested in him.

Other than Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are also believed to be keen on signing the midfielder. But rumours have suggested that West Ham United could look for a transfer fee in the region of £100 million for him.

Rice is still just 23 years of age and already one of the best players in the Premier League. Thus, signing him would be considered as a major coup for most clubs in the world right now.
