Manchester United appear to be headed for another squad overhaul in the summer. The club have assembled an impressive group of players, which on paper, looks ready to compete for the Premier League title. The reality has been quite different though. In fact, the Red Devils have appeared to take a step back this season despite signing superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Thus, it looks like this squad might need a refresh with a new permanent manager expected to arrive in the summer. Names like Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Brendan Rodgers and quite a few others have been linked with the job.

One area that could definitely need some change is their frontline. Edinson Cavani looks almost certain to leave Manchester United at the end of the season while the future of Anthony Martial is up in the air as well, with the Frenchman currently on loan as well. And who knows what Ronaldo will do if the club does not qualify for next campaign’s Champions League.

Thus, Manchester United could need to sign a striker next summer and one player that they must keep an eye on is Chelsea’s Armando Broja, who is shining on loan at Southampton this season.

Manchester United must try to sign Broja from Chelsea

Broja has been brilliant for Southampton this season. While his numbers might not look extremely impressive, it is more about what he is bringing to the table as a whole, at 20 years of age.

Manchester United got a first hand experience of that recently as Broja dominated Harry Maguire and even Varane to some extent, when the Red Devils drew 1-1 with Southampton.

Arsenal have been linked with a potential move for Broja recently as well and interestingly, Chelsea have not been shy when it comes to letting their youngsters leave in recent times. Thus, Manchester United should definitely check if a Stamford Bridge exit is on the cards. His current deal with the club does run till the summer of 2026 though.
