Manchester United look set to be headed towards another transfer rebuild. Not many would have expected this after the club had signed superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane last summer but incredibly, the team have appeared to take a step back since their arrivals at Old Trafford. They had finished second in the Premier League last season but find themselves in the middle of a top four race this time around.

Also, they were knocked out early from both the League Cup and the FA Cup, and although they still have the Champions League to play for, it does feel like the Red Devils are headed towards their fifth straight trophyless campaign.

As a result, it is clear that the club will need to improve their squad in the summer and are also expected to bring in a long-term manager as well. And they appear to have a RB Leipzig superstar on their radar.

As reported by ESPN, Manchester United have added Christopher Nkunku to their list of summer targets after Ralf Rangnick urged the club to step up their interest in the RB Leipzig midfielder.

Some of the numbers that Nkunku has put up this season are extraordinary, especially considering the fact that he mostly plays as an attacking midfielder, although he does have the versatility to play on the wings or up top as well.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 19 goals and provided 16 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig this season.

Thus, if Manchester United were able to sign a player like Nkunku, it would be considered as a massive boost on their part. His current deal runs till the summer of 2024 and rumours have suggested that it might take a transfer fee around £70 million to sign the RB Leipzig superstar.
