Despite all their troubles in domestic competition, Manchester United have been quite good when it comes to Europe this season.

They are in the last 16 of the Champions League and will be taking on Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

Simeone’s side have developed into a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League over the past decade or so, but have struggled quite a bit this season. The defending La Liga champions appear to be already out of the title race, and no longer appear to possess the rock solid defence that had made them such a difficult side to play against in recent years.

Also, Manchester United have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, whose record against them is incredible.

Watford (Home)

Watford have struggled this season and could very well be headed back to the Championship soon. But Manchester United have appeared to struggle against relegation fighting teams in recent times.

As a result, while fans must be confident of the team’s chances going into the game, it is safe to say that the Red Devils will have to earn the three points.

Manchester City (Away)

Manchester City appear to be running away with the Premier League title once again. After a slow start to the season, Pep Guardiola’s side have come into their own and have very much been the dominant side in English football once again.

Thus, it is safe to say that Manchester United will be heavy underdogs for this one. But at the same time, interestingly, the Red Devils’ record against Guardiola’s side is not bad in recent times despite their incredible dominance over domestic competitions in recent years.

Thus, while a win is unlikely for Ralf Rangnick’s side, it would be a mistake to count them completely out. Form often goes out of the window in a Manchester Derby.
