Manchester United could undergo a massive squad overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club have been heavily linked with a move for a midfielder for a long time now, but it has just never materialised. But next time around, it will be more of a necessity rather than a desire for the Red Devils, with the futures of Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Nemanja Matic up in the air.

Rumours have suggested that Pogba is edging closer towards the Old Trafford exit door next summer. On the other hand, Van de Beek was sent out on loan to Everton this January after struggling for playing time and Matic is no longer the player that he once was.

Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans is one of the midfielders that Manchester United have been linked with for a long time. And there appears to be a huge update regarding his future at the King Power Stadium.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Tielemans will not extend his contract at Leicester City. A new offer has been turned down and his current deal is set to run out in the summer of 2023.

Tielemans looks set to leave Leicester City in major boost for Manchester United

Manchester United are not the only club being linked with Tielemans though. Real Madrid, Barcelona and a few more teams from the Premier League are also believed to interested in securing the midfielder’s signature.

And after how things have turned out recently, Leicester City might be open to letting him leave next summer rather than as a free agent a year later.

Tielemans has shown tremendous potential and improvement during his time at Leicester City. The 24-year-old has also proven himself as a midfielder suited to the Premier League. And it won’t be easy for Manchester United to sign him.
