Juventus have signed Manchester United transfer target

It is safe to say that it looks like Manchester United are planning to wait until the summer before making any more additions to their squad. The strategy makes quite a bit of sense to be honest. The Red Devils already have a huge roster of players. On the other hand, Ralf Rangnick is only the interim manager of the club till the end of the season after which he will take a consultancy role. A long-term managerial appointment is expected in the summer.

It remains to be seen how things turn out. This strategy has resulted in quite a few of Manchester United long-term transfer targets in joining other clubs though.

Denis Zakaria appears to be one such player. Manchester United were heavily linked with the Swiss midfielder in recent weeks but the rumours have existed for a long time now.

But as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have agreed a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach to sign Zakaria, who has landed in Turin.

Manchester United need to strengthen in the middle of the park. And as a result, someone like Zakaria could have proven to be a solid signing for the club, especially considering the fact that it is believed that Juventus will shell out a transfer fee of €5 million along with a further €3 million in add ons to sign him.

That is certainly a bargain for a player of Zakaria’s quality, who has been a standout in the Bundesliga for a while now and is also a Swiss international. He was in the final six months of his deal with Borussia Monchengladbach though, so it makes sense for them as well.

On the other hand, Manchester United will have to move their eyes elsewhere in the summer, when it comes to potentially strengthening their midfield options.
