Juventus submit transfer bid for Manchester United target
Manchester United have been linked with several players in recent times but have not made an addition to their squad in the January transfer window although it is pretty clear that they need to improve significantly if they are to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season. With just a few days left this month, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils end up making a late move or stick with the squad that they have.
One player that the club have been rumoured to be interested in is Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria.
Manchester United have been linked with Zakaria for quite some time now without a move ever materialising. The Swiss international is expected to leave Borussia Monchengladbach soon though, with his current deal running out in the summer.
And it looks like Juventus are moving to bring him to Turin. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A giants have already submitted an opening proposal to Borussia Monchengladbach to sign Zakaria immediately. It is a transfer fee of €7 million, add ons included.
Juventus have made a move for the Manchester United-linked midfielder
It remains to be seen if Juventus end up pulling off the move for the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.
He could have potentially been a solid addition for Manchester United, who do need to strengthen their midfield soon.
The futures of both Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek are up in the air, while Nemanja Matic is also no longer the player that he once was. On top of that, questions have been asked about the consistency of Fred and Scott McTominay. At the moment though, it does feel like Manchester United are planning to wait till the summer transfer window and the arrival of a long-term manager, before making any more additions to their ranks.
