Manchester United in talks with Premier League club
After surprisingly not making any moves, whether in terms of incomings or outgoings, for several weeks, things have certainly picked up pace at Manchester United in recent days. Anthony Martial has already completed a move to Sevilla till the end of the season and now, it looks like Donny van de Beek could be headed out of Old Trafford on a temporary basis as well if things go smoothly.
Crystal Palace appear to be the club who are most interested in signing Van de Beek on loan at this point of time.
In fact, recently rumours had emerged that they had submitted a loan proposal to Manchester United for the Dutch midfielder. And now, it looks like talks are ongoing between the two clubs over a potential deal.
Manchester United want Van de Beek’s salary to be covered and negotiations are in progress. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:
Could Van de Beek join Crystal Palace on loan from Manchester United?
When Van de Beek joined Manchester United, he was one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in the world. He had starred for Ajax during their incredible run to the Champions League semi-finals a few years back and was a part of the Netherlands national team picture.
Thus, many believed that Manchester United had pulled off a brilliant move and Van de Beek had the potential to be a part of their first-team picture for years to come.
Unfortunately though, that has not turned out to be the case. Instead, the Dutch midfielder has had to spend the majority of his time sitting on the bench and his playing time has not increased despite a change in management. As a result, a move away from Old Trafford makes sense for both the club and the player at this point of time.
