Manchester United had been handed a Erling Haaland transfer blow earlier in the month after rumours broke out that the Red Devils had dropped out of the race for the Borussia Dortmund superstar’s signature. And now, it looks like they are not going to be able to sign Dusan Vlahovic either, as the Fiorentina star appears to be closing in on a move to Juventus.

As reported by GOAL, Juventus have agreed a €75 million deal with Fiorentina to sign Vlahovic. The Serbian striker has been an absolute standout in recent years.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 17 goals in 21 appearances in Serie A this season. And last season, he had scored 21 goals in the Italian top division. One also has to consider the fact that he is still just 21 years of age.

Manchester United have been linked with a potential move for Vlahovic several times in recent months but now, it looks like that is off the table as well in a huge blow for the Premier League giants.

Manchester United handed Vlahovic transfer blow

With Vlahovic set to join Juventus, one has to wonder who Manchester United can sign if they want to strengthen up top in the near future.

The club have an impressive forward department at the moment but neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Edinson Cavani are in their primes anymore. On the other hand, both Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have struggled to find their best form this season. And Anthony Martial is set to join Sevilla on loan, and might not have a long-term future at Old Trafford.

Thus, it will be interesting to see what Manchester United end up doing in the summer transfer window. But for now, their primary aim must be to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
