Manchester United in pole position to sign £67 million star
Manchester United are almost certain to witness the departure of Paul Pogba in the next summer transfer window if something unexpected doesn’t happen over the coming weeks and months. The Frenchman is in the final six months of his current deal with his contract at Old Trafford running out in the summer of 2022. With a new deal not appearing on the horizon, it feels like he could be on his way out as a free agent soon.
The rumours surrounding the club suggest that Manchester United want to keep Pogba beyond this season. Yet, the player is yet to extend his current deal and at 28 years of age, could end up looking for a new challenge.
In terms of potential destinations, there are believed to be many, with clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain linked with a move for Pogba in recent months.
But none of them appear to have shown the willingness to move quicker than others and try to sign him this January for a transfer fee rather than compete with others over a free move in the summer.

Pogba’s departure is likely to create a massive void in Manchester United’s squad. As such, the Red Devils, who have already felt the need to add to their midfield department, would need to find a top-class midfielder to replace the Frenchman.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via The Sun), Lazio know that they might need to part ways with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic before they can bring in new players. Manchester United are believed to be in pole position to sign him. Juventus and Inter Milan are said to be monitoring the situation as well though.
As things stand, the 26-year-old has more than two years left on his contract at Lazio. But it looks like the Serie A club could be willing to let him leave for a transfer fee around €80 million (£67 million) in the current circumstances.
