Manchester United find themselves in a tough situation right now. They were considered as genuine Premier League title contenders at the start of the season but currently sit at 7th in the table, and might have a hard time even breaking into the top four. As a result, it is clear that the club need to strengthen further and could do with a few more options. But instead, it looks like players could be headed in the opposite direction.

There are several Manchester United players who have not played a lot of football this season and are believed to be looking to leave in search of playing time.

Donny van de Beek is one such player, who has struggled for playing time. The Dutchman had arrived with a lot of expectations in the summer of 2020 from Ajax, for a transfer fee believed to be around £35 million. It is safe to say that things have not worked out for him.

And now, it looks like Manchester United might be ready to let him leave on loan. As reported by Manchester Evening News, Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United have been sounded out about a potential loan move for Van de Beek.

Not too long ago, Van de Beek was one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in world football and had proven himself at domestic, European and international level.

But at Manchester United, he has not found his feet and has had to spend the majority of his time sitting on the bench. And there has not been a significant increase in his playing time despite the change in management.

As a result, it is not hard to see why he might be looking for an exit, especially with the World Cup coming up. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Dutch midfielder.
