Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future has been up in the air for a while now. His current deal with the Red Devils runs out next summer, meaning he is already free to sign a pre-contract and could end up waking out of Old Trafford as a free agent a few months later. That is something that the club will certainly want to avoid and they are believed to be interested in handing the French World Cup winner a new deal.

Recently, huge rumours had broken out in that regard, which claimed that Manchester United had offered Pogba a new deal with whopping wages of £500,000 per week, which would have made him the highest paid player in Premier League history.

Of course, while clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and others are believed to be interested in Pogba, it would have been difficult to turn down that kind of an offer for any player.

But now, it looks like the rumours of a new contract being put on the Frenchman’s table are misplaced. As reported by the Daily Mail, a spokesman for Pogba has issued a statement to deny such suggestions and it read:

"‘To clarify media reports, Paul has not been offered a new contract in recent months. Paul is fully focused on his recovery from injury with the aim of helping the team as soon as possible.’"

Pogba’s Manchester United future takes another twist

It is safe to say that Pogba’s future at Manchester United has already had its fair share of twists and turns, and this is the latest one.

It will be very interesting to see what Pogba eventually decides to do. And he finds himself in a very good position right now in terms of having the flexibility to decide his own future.

At the moment, he is out with an injury and has not played a single minute of football since Ralf Rangnick’s arrival as Manchester United’s interim manager. And one has to feel that his first target now must be to get fit and return to the pitch as soon as possible.
