There are quite a few Manchester United players whose futures are up in the air right now. Some of them are still at Old Trafford while a few are out on loan. Their next step is unclear though as there does not seem to be a clear path for them to the first-team. One of them is Axel Tuanzebe, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa but he has not had a great stint there either.

Tuanzebe has barely featured for Steven Gerrard’s side recently and as a result, it is unclear whether he will stay at Aston Villa in the second half of the season or leave.

There does not seem to be a lack of interest in the highly-rated Manchester United defender’s signature though, with the latest club linked with him being Napoli, who are enjoying a pretty good season till now.

Napoli appear to be in negotiations with Manchester United over a loan move surrounding Tuanzebe, who is open to moving to the Italian club immediately. Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:

Manchester United player is open to joining Napoli in January

Tuanzebe has always been very highly-rated and he has shown glimpses of how good he can be when on the top of his game. Last season’s performance against Paris Saint-Germain was a perfect example of that. He is also a known for his leadership abilities and has already captained Manchester United in the past.

For all of his qualities though, Tuanzebe has never quite been able to put it all together on a consistent basis. Of course, injuries have been a problem for the defender as well.

Now 24 years of age, he needs to play regular football. He is not getting that at Aston Villa right now though. Thus, a move away in January does not feel like a bad idea and Napoli is certainly a tempting option.
